3 lbs of aluminum flux, foundry, sand casting

If you have ever spent time and effort preparing your own scrap into small pieces to charge a crucible furnace and then had to skim 10% of your aluminum (effort, work, expense) out with the dross and throw it on the ground, you will appreciate commercial foundry flux.
I've tried the home recipes I've found in several books and trust me - there is no comparison.
It keeps your crucible clean, reduces the aluminum drag-out in the dross by over 90%, and gives you a more quality end result in your casting.
I've used this flux personally for about two years now. There are no noxious fumes or odors emitted.
Here is a cut-n-paste from the data sheet.
COVERAL* 111 General Purpose Aluminum Flux
COVERAL 111 is a premium aluminum flux suitable for covering, cleaning,
and drossing applications. It is primarily recommended for use in crucible
COVERAL 111 is not recommended for use on aluminum alloys containing
more than 5% magnesium or 13% silicon.
Non-metallics removed from melt
The exact quantity of flux required will depend on a variety of operating
conditions such as initial metal cleanliness (e.g., ingot or scrap charge),
amount of dross present, and metal temperature. The application rates
listed below may need to be increased or decreased in your operation.
For covering and cleaning applications in crucible furnaces, add COVERAL
111 to the top of a molten heel and charge aluminum scrap and ingot
through the flux cover until the furnace is full. The recommended application
rate is 0.25-0.50% of the total weight of metal to be charged (0.25-0.50 lbs.
of COVERAL 111 per 100 lbs. of melt).
