Sakura rsg-61 hematology slide stainer, nice, working?

Sakura RSG-61 Hematology Slide Stainer
For sale- a Sakura RSG-61 Hematology Slide Stainer. This unit is in very good physical condition, in fact, other than removing a couple of property of decals I did nothing to clean it up for the pictures, it is presented as I purchased it. So either somebody did a good job of cleaning it up after it was removed from service (not likely) or it was well taken care of when in use. The blue front panel shows a variety of scuff, nicks, and scratches to the finish, and there is a scratch across the small LCD display but it is still quite readable. So while it isn t pristine perhaps I suspect it looks as good as it needs to. Powers up as you can see, and appears to be responsive to the keypad.
I was able to persuade it to run Program #1, which is outlined on the piece of paper taped to the front. It appeared to my untrained eye to execute that program to perfection. When you first power the thing up the arm initializes and ends up in the Home position which is situated over the #1 glass container. According to the sheet, for Program #1 that would contain 300ml of methanol into which the sample would be dipped for ten seconds. Then the arm raises the sample, moves over to the second glass container, and dips the sample for 2 minutes and 30 seconds into 300ml of Wrights Stain. When I say it dips it, not only does it lower down, but then it cyclically raises and lowers about an inch, which I guess is to make sure that the solution being used is stirred a bit and coats it thoroughly.
After the fourth bath it gets a quick dip in tap water at station #5 where it is rinsed for 15 seconds. It then moves over into the drying chamber which comes to life and blows warm air for 3 minutes. At the end of 3 minutes the unit beeps audibly and the display reports complete. I was expecting it to move back to the home position but it just stayed there with the blower going. I finally checked and found that the air being blown was no longer warm, and after a minute or two (or three, I wasn t really paying attention) the blower shuts off. I pressed the Stop/End button and the arm raised but stayed where it was. When I hit Home it went back to the initialize position over the first container.
