Overload/Short-Circuit Protection
PS5591SM is a 12V System Power Supply that is designed to power multiple stand-alone units from a single source. This eliminates the need for several individual power adapters and accompanying power strips. The PS5591SM can be set for an input of 115 VAC@50/60 Hz or 230 VAC@50/60 Hz.
PS5591SM is a regulated 12VDC and the power supply has an easy-to-read LED indicator to show the load level. The PS5591SM also provides multiple safety features including overload, over-voltage, and over-temperature protection.
Overload protection guards against inadvertent shorts and overloads through an electronic output limiting circuit. This feature limits the output current until the incorrect load/short is removed, and then automatically restores the output. Over-voltage protection prevents the output voltage from exceeding excessive levels if heavy load equipment is suddenly removed while low load equipment remains in use.
Over temperature offers protection against undesired component failures in high temperature working environments. The output automatically shuts down, and then restarts once the temperature returns to within the operating range.
