Vintage homelite zip chainsaw complete patent pending
Looks to be complete. I bought this from an old man in his 70's and he hadn't ran it in 10 to 15 years but he said it was working when he last used it. I put in a gas/oil mix and gave it about 25 pulls with no success-good compression but wouldn't fire off. I then removed the spark plug and put the oil/gas mix directly in the spark plug hole and it fired first time but didn't run long. I repeated this 3 times and it still wouldn't pull gas from the carb so i quit. It looks to me like the piece that holds the bar to the chainsaw has been welded as I see a crack on the outside but pulled it and cleaned it some and didn't see a crack on the outside. While I had the bar off I pushed the oiler and it works great-squirted oil all over my pants. Exposed bar when mounted on the saw is 17 1/2" extending. Starter Cord retracts but not fully. It is either too long or the mechanism needs cleaned up. Serial number is 836922 and it is patent applied for,. 30b5d 21/21/21/5d
