The machine is equipped withtwo tables which can be independently adjusted for bothheight and tilt. On every other twin-table tenoning machinethe tables are always mounted on a slide. But on the PICOthe tables are stationary and the tool moves back and forthfrom one table to the other. This cycle completely eliminatesidle times: the operator can load the workpiece on one tablewhile a tenon is being cut on the other. Since the workpiecedoes not move, thanks to the stationary tables the PICO isparticularly suitable for cutting tenons on long parts, oneend of which can rest on a special support. The stationarytables assure tenoning results of the highest precision. Inreason of a special anti-splintering cycle, always inoperation (tool feed is awalys concordant with its sense ofrotation), the machine can obtain perfect shoulders on bothwork-tables, even on particularly difficult woods.It is important to note that, to reach this result, the tool doesnot go a second time over the tenon just cut: the exactnessof the thickness remains thus unaltered. The change in toolposition at tenoning outset occurs while the cutterheadmoves from one table to the next and, consequently, thehigh production output does not suffer in any way.The master can be easily adjusted to cut tenons withhorizontal, inclined or vertical axis (a system tested over 33years on model 2TAO). Standard equipment of the PICOtenoner includes cutterhead with hogging cutter andthrowaway TCT knives. The simplified mechanics andautomation make the PICO tenoner a reliable machinewhich requires only minimum maintenance.
