The first Doodle Bugs where equip with fluid drive clutch & needed the output shafts Threaded 5/8" NF. This engine has the 5/8" shaft with 3/16" keyway to accomodate the Flex clutch that was used on the latter NP Briggs do to the poor performance of the fluid clutch.The shaft can still be threaded 5/8" NF if you where to use the fluid clutch without removing the crankshaft.
