2 CBS Hytron 5514 Power Triode Tubes ~ Upgraded 811A
This Listing is for two NOS NIB CBS Hytron 5514 power triode tubes. The photo shows one pair. There are up to two pairs available. On a calibrated Hickok 539C, they all test 1800 or better, where 850 is the minimum acceptable. Plate currents were within 2ma, so you can put together matched pairs or even a quad of power triode tubes.
The tubes have bottom D getters, graphite plates and ceramic insulators. They have matching date codes of 61-35. The 5514 is an upgraded version of the popular 811A tube using a 7.5v filament and incorporates a graphite plate. As long as you supply the correct filament voltage, the 5514 will work wherever an 811A is used with the added benefit of having higher output capability and overall more rugged construction.
For RF, these will work in a wide variety of sets, from Collins, Ameritron and others. For audio, these are great sounding, very robust tubes. Here is an excellent opportunity to get an excellent testing pair of these tubes at a fair price for use in your next project.
