This hardback book (and the others from this same series also currently running) absolutely must be seen!! Titled; "EARTHWORK AND RETAINING WALLS" / By Horace R. Thayer / {329B} / Published by INTERNATIONAL TEXTBOOK COMPANY / Copyright 1929 ~~//~~ This easily written and profusely illustrated book is in mint condition. Never even fully opened. The pages are pristine! Tightly bound inside of midnight blue embossed (thin) leather covers, (with cobalt/gold on teal marbled end papers). 58 + vividly detailed figures, diagrams and sharply detailed line cuts are found throughout this text! Depicting all sorts of earthwork including; cantilever wall parts, gravity wall plans, foundation pressure, side-hill curvature, measurement of excavation, cross section cutting +++. Slight surface wear (just barely touching) the cover tips is the only tiny flaw to the outside of this 81-year-old original. That s it! I was unable to find a single flaw to the interior of this 5" by 7 3/4" beauty. That s it! Its 169 + blue edged, heavy cream colored pages have no brittleness foxing sticking mildew wrinkles waving rips tears dogears odor underlines marks of anykind or even a fingeredge smudge.
