**ITEM DESCRIPTION AND SOLDERING & CHIP LOCATION SERVICE**
Converts a standard SOIC 14 IC to 0.6" wide Dual In-Line at 0.1" pitch format.
These adaptors are for use in PCB's or prototyping boards (breadboards) and are manufactured to industrial quality, using a RoHS compliant hot air solder level process (HASL). These Pb-free adaptors have a shelf life comporable to leaded components.
This adaptor has a ground plane under the IC, which can be seperatley earthed to your breadboard via a flying lead which you solder on. By removing the solder mask, which is over the earth plane in the area under the chip, you can solder to an exposed pad for heat sinking and earthing purposes.
This device is RoHS compliant, but can be used to convert leaded chips at the expense of loss of compliance - not reccommended for appications other than breadboarding and development purposes. The adaptors can be supplied with either turned pins suitable for insertion into an IC holder/direct board soldering; or with square pins suitable for proto-board insertion/direct board soldering (as shown in the photo). If you want turned pins, you must say so by leaving instructions to us in the comments box on the checkout procedure page. Otherwise, you will be sent square pins by default.

You can order as many adapters as we have in stock from this listing and any other listing, yet still only pay for the cost of postage for the first adaptor. This is because the adaptors weight is almost negligible, and thus the increase in postage cost is very tiny compared to the combined value of all adapters ordered; basically we pay the additional cost!
