Vytran PM FFS-2000 Filament Fusion Splicing System All of the Vytran FFS-2000 splicers have low arc counts. The Vytran FFS-2000 includes everything you need to strip, clean, cleave, splice and recoater fiber. Everything is incorporated in the main unit: Fiber coating heater and stripper, ultrasonic cleaner, cleaver, splicer, and finally the fiber recoater. All in one! No other splicer manufacturer sells anything close to the FFS-2000. And if you also need to recoat what you splice, you will not need to purchase a separate splicer and recoater. And this is a filament splicer. It doesn t splice using the heat from a dirty electric arc, but from a small electric heating filament in an inert argon or nitrogen atmosphere. A must for specialty fiber splicing and lab experiments. The unit pictured is the actual unit you will recieve. We are unable to test this unit.
The FFS-2000 is a complete workstation with all fusion splicing procedures logically integrated into a single system that can be used to produce consistent splices quickly and efficiently. This third generation Fusion Splicing Workstation uses Vytran s proven filament fusion technology to provide a convenient, reliable method of making high-strength, low-loss splices. New to the FFS-2000 is Vytran s True Core Imaging technology, a high-magnification, highresolution optical imaging system capable of detecting and displaying the inner core structure of a fiber. This technology provides for fast, accurate core alignment and splice loss calculation.
Also new is a Windows-based user interface that offers complete configuration and process control, as well as a networkable database for recording all splicing data. With its complete workstation design, enhanced imaging capabilities, and increased programming flexibility, the FFS-2000 is an ideal system for both production and R&D applications.
