For sale are fourteen 103 centimeter pieces of titanium tubing with 6 millimeter outer diameter and 0.4 millimeter wall thickness. This is Russian aerospace surplus titanium, fairly soft and can be bent or machined pretty much like low carbon steel. X-ray fluorescence analysis indicates 99.5 % titanium content, the only other detectable component is aluminum (0.5%). The GOST specification is VT1-0, which corresponds to ASTM Grade 2. This is perfect for corrosion resistance in weather, saltwater, engine exaust or chemical equipment. No hazardous chemicals or metals will leach out of it.
The weight of this material is about 38 grams per meter. Most of the tubes are fairly straight, only a few have a gradual curvature of several millimeters over the entire length. One of the tubes has a slight abrasion over a fraction of its length.
