The model of the later SUNNEN automatic verticle cylinder sizing machines are the CK21 and the CV10. The major advantage over the older CV616 is that you can stop the stroking and dwell any place in the cylinder which allows you to quickly straighten the bore size.
How many times have you wanted to stop and hone at the top of the bore? You cannot always fixture the part with the smaller bore diameter at the bottom to take advantage of the dwell feature. How many times have you wanted to stop and bore only in the centre of the bore to correct an hour-glass condition? NOW with the NEW DCV616 you can stop and hone wherever you want !
The DCV616 Dwell Control Kit allows the operator to work a specific area and intermittently stroke the rest of the cylinder entirely at the operator's discretion. Simply by pressing and releasing the dwell control handle makes it possible to deal with the distortion, avoid uneven stone wear, and work the rest of the bore all at the same time. Finished tolerances within .0001" roundness, straightness, and size can now be achieved consistently with very little effort using your current CV616 with this new attachment. It only takes 30 to 40 minutes to convert your machine. This new device has been developed by a former SUNNEN employee with 40 years of service.
