A. We are trying to cover the whole of the UK and are selling off as complete counties and some major cities. You seem to be in Xshire, and at this time that county is available and would be yours for your exclusive use. Should be plenty of opportunityies for you for the f oreseeable future.
The initial training ie getting to know our system and a Level Two should not take you very long since you say you have done some of that already.
The hours that you work on it is up to you, since you will be your own boss.
What I can tell you is that here in Kent it has provided me with a good living for quite a few years.

A. You will be providing a service to small and medium businesses which they all need to comply with the law. WE agree with you an exclusive territory which is free for you to work for ever so long as you remain our agent. We provide you with the necessary skills to set up and run the courses in clients premises and elsewhere. WE provide the examination papers and issue the certificates. Apart from the small charge we make to provide these and maintain the register ( it amounts to between 5 and 10 per candidate) you do not pay anything else. WE then provide free training for yourself so that you may continously learn more and more and so increase you earning capacity. What you earn is up to you , how much you charge, how often you work etc. But we can show that an average earning protential would be in the region of 30,000 per annum.
A. If you have specific questions you would like to ask we will of course answer them if we possibily can, if they touch on 'commerical confidentially' we will tell you.
Q. Thank you for your inquiry. Its not the money which is an issue. I can understand your position as it can be a waste of time with people who may be just making curious queries. It can also be a waste of time from my perspective. As a compromise can you give me some idea of the potential earnings for such a business and how much could I expect to achieve in the first 6 months. I am nearly 60 years of age by the way and would like to know if that would be a problem. If you can just give me an inkling of these questions I will submit the money and start the process. A. So you are younger than I , if you are fit and well and can learn new things then I don't see a problem.
As an example lets say you go to a client business who has say 10 people to train to Level 2. The average cost of this program would be between 70 and 110/per person from the competition, but say you charged 40/per head and that would be a very low price then you would gross 400. Your only other costs might be 1.our examination,certificate and register maintenance of just 10/pp. 2.You might like to provide a small course book at say 4 each This would give you a total expense of 140 leaving you with a profit of 260 for your days work.
The above is an example but does reflect what our own experence has been.
As to what you might earn in the first six months thats very hard to say, because first we don't know how long it will take you to feel ready , how many hours per week you will work etc etc. but what we can say is that in our own experince you would expect to earn at least 30,000 in the first year.
If you are of average ability you should be able to get up to speed on the technical things in about a week.
Q. Ok, just that brief description gives me a feel for the business. There is only one further query on which I will base a serious decision and that is simply this. In a previous I was in the wrong area where the business I chose was really in a saturated market. Although I did quite well, I know in hind site that had it not been for that or I was involved with this business in a number of other towns I would have doubled my turnover. Are their buckets of other companies offering the same training ie, is it a saturated market?
A. First: Please let me know what area you are interested in working. Some areas have already been sold. Usually we agree to a whole County or a large City except perhaps London where we divide it into two.
What we offer our clients is unique since we endevour to cater to their exact needs plus the fact that our courses are cheaper than anyone else's.
Because of the continuing introduction of new regulations emminating from the EU this is an expanding market.
Yes there are some competitors out there as with any other business but they suffer from either being too expensive or not offering a complete service with respect to the necessary tracability amoung many other issues.
Q. I have noticed that there are online courses being offered on the internet?
A. Online Food Safety Courses do not meet the requirements of the policing authority, and are not acceptable to the Environmental Health Officers who do the inspections. ( added 11.05 18th May 10) oh and by the way our courses are even cheaper than those online.
