Bunn torque sensor board cds-2 ultra-2 slush 27939.1000

These are new or refurbished Torque Sensor Board for any Bunn CDS or Ultra machine. If refurbished, we check and clean the entire board, align the photoelectric beam, and test each board for proper operation. Refurbished boards are guaranteed to be fully operational.
The Torque Sensor Board gathers information from the auger shaft to determine the thickness of the product. Based on the product thickness and where you have set the thickness switch (knob in the CDS control drawer and digitally on the Ultra) it will send a signal to the main control board to turn the refrigerant on or off to the cooling drum in the respective hopper. The red and clear components on this board emit and receive an invisible light beam. The spinning pins on the auger shaft and auger shaft motor interrupt this light beam. Since the distance between the two pins changes (one pin is fixed to the motor shaft while the other is fixed to the torsion springs which twist as the product in the hopper gets thicker), the main circuit board can interpret the changing distance between the pins and know the thickness of your product. On the Ultra, you can also command the machine to display the amount of torque being experienced in each hopper in real time.
This board is the most likely culprit if you are experiencing any of these problems:
2. One hopper won't cool at all
3. Product thickness is inconsistent
4. Compressor won't turn on (boards on all operating hoppers must be bad)
This board can be found on the back of the hopper above the auger motor (inside the plastic motor cover). It is often damaged when the auger motor and auger shaft are removed if the auger shaft is not turned so the split roll pins are turned away from this board - these metal pins can bang into the board and usually damage the light emitter, the light receiver, or other components on the board. This little board can also be damaged if product leaks through the auger shaft seal, through the shaft alley, and onto this board (you can see in the picture the clear protective coating brushed onto the board components at the factory to help prevent this type of damage.) Finally, the plug connector on the board can be damaged if it the plug is removed in a less-than-careful method by Mongo (our Barbarian technician.)
You need only a flat blade screwdriver and about two minutes to install this part.
Note: Before installing this component be sure all electrical problems have been repaired including damaged wiring, electrical shorts, or damaged or inoperative electrical components.
