You are purchasing 1 LM3914 in lots of 1 it drives 10 Led's.
Lights up to 10 Leds ( Bar mode ) or 1 of 10 ( Dot mode ) in response to input voltage. The chip contains a voltage divider and 10 comparators that turn on in sequence as the input voltage rises.
A single pin changes the display from moving dot to a bar graph. The LM3914 was made to turn on Leds however it can turn on other devices ( transistors, mosfets, discrete logic devices) .
Many LM3914's can be chained to form displays of segments. Up to 10 LM3914's can be chained toghether.
Built in adjustable 1.2 voltage reference adjustable to 12 volts.
Operates from single supply voltage of less than 3 volts.
Output drive current to the leds adjustable with a resistor.
