Tool Hit Indicator for CNC routers: This indicator is used to be forgiving to your tool tip. The spring action allows for your tool to touch and not be dulled, chipped or break. If you were to use the conventional measuring block and move the Z travel too far there are possible tool damage that may occur. By using this tool high indicator you can touch off and have the signal relay back to Mach3. The accuracy is rated at .001 but have tested to be +-.0003". Accuracy may vary. You should touch off as center as possible to the indicator block. The indicator links to a home switch located on your Y axis. K2 will provide a Macro via email so that you can place it into Mach 3. The LED light comes on when the contact is closed. The macro will direct the Z axis to move in negative (down) direction until the tool reaches the contact point. Once the contact point is reached the Z axis will move up to the designated Z height and the distance in Z value is inputted into Mach 3.
