This is a shut off and open water valve air chamber, air cushion, water capacitor or hammer arresters. It is for connecting to 3/4 inch copper pipe.
If you are hearing noise in your pipes when you turn the water on this is not what you need. When shutting off the water and you hear a hammer sounding noise this is what you need.
When installing turn the water supply off and turn the air chamber valve off sealing the air in the chamber and install. After installing turn the water supply back on and open the air chamber valve. The air in the chamber gives a cushion taking on the pressure.
