Replacement post hole digger gearbox - oil seal problem
Replacement Post Hole Digger Gear Box:
New OEM Post Hole Digger Gear Box. This gearbox has been used by several manufacturers and we purchased these directly from one of them.
These gearboxes have a known oil seal problem where oil will leak out the output shaft. We have been informed the problem is in the machining of the housing where the seal sits. The seal mounting hole is slightly elongated allowing oil to drain past the outside of the seal. Other than this oil leakage problem these are perfectly good gearboxes. The manufacturer of these gearboxes has chosen not to repair these units and we purchased them at a big discount that we are passing on to you. Save big on these gearboxes and either add oil when you need to or disassemble the gearbox and use a silicone form a gasket product to seal the housing around the seal.
Each gearbox has the industry standard 2" auger mounting shaft with two cross drilled holes to mount the auger.
The input shaft where the PTO mounts is 1.25" with a shear bolt hole and a front groove for the locking set screw which keeps the PTO from coming off of the gearbox should the shear bolt shear.
We will warranty each gear box for a period of one year with the exception of oil related problems. We will not warranty gearboxes with failed bearings or gears that have been burnt or blued from lack of lubrication.
