Gunhead 7X 12 cnc lathe fully assembled/tested

We have made numerous improvements over the original 7x lathe to make it even more accurate. (see details below.)
This machine is made of steel, making it industrious enough to cut heavier metals such are iron, brass, steel. Making it more useful than other all aluminum cnc lathes. Which is why we chose this model as the foundation for my modification.
The CNC motor mounts are made of 7075 aluminum and house precision load bearings for the X-axis and Z-Axis.
The 7x Lathe original leadscrews were replaced with precision leadscrew with antibacklash nuts making cuts accurate to 1/10,000ths of on inch or better.
A speed sensor was added to the spindle to allow you to cut threads on the fly and know your RPM with your CAM software. Simply set a pin of you parallel port as the speed sensor, in Mach3 for example, and it is setup.
- Fully assembled and tested Lathe and driving electronics. (see pics and video)
- Control system based on the reliable Gecko drives.
- Precision leadscrews on both X and Z axis.
- Movable X & Z-axis limit switches.
- Buffered parallel port input.
- Rugged ABS plastic control box.
- Small footprint. Put it anywhere.
- Easily transportable. Crane not needed.
- X-axis motor located behind carriage providing balance to the normally side heavy original.
- Improved carriage gib system. Eliminating torsion cause by cutting.
- Powerful motors (282 oz/inch on the X-asix and 389 oz/inch on the Z-axis. No need to worry about lost steps.
- Spindle speed sensor. Cut threads on the fly with automatic RPM compensation
- Horsepower 0.34 HP (250W motor)
- Spindle Speed 0-1100, 0-2500 RPM
- Spindle Taper #3 Morse Taper
- Tailstock Taper #2 Morse Taper
The Lathe (With Tailstock, not pictured with the lathe. Pictures separate as red. Colors may vary.)
And no hassle. Just uncrate, bolt to a bench, and start producing endlessly.
