Top fan spins easily and smooth. There is a second fan below the top fan that does not spin with the top one. I suspect it turns in opposite direction when turned on. All the fans and blades appear to be in excellent condition. No pits, marks, cracks, bent or broken vanes. The leading edges are pretty sharp. No odd noises and it spins freely/smooth when turned. The Pfeiffer Balzers TPU-1500 turbo molecular high vacuum pumps have a pumping speed of 1500 liters per second (l/s). The inlet is a 8 inch Conflat (CFF) with a ISO KF-25 exhaust foreline flange. The Pfeiffer Balzers TPH 1500 turbomolecular pump can be used for all general-purpose high vacuum applications. TPH and TPU models of the Pfeiffer Vacuum turbo are identical with regard to their design, the only difference being the intake flange.
This pump typically sells for $13,000 as a rebuilt unit. My starting price is less than half this amount.
I am unable to test this item. The only information I have concerning it was that is was removed from service due to a vacuum chamber upgrade. I was told they required a larger pump. Hard to imagine. There isn t much bigger than this unit or that can create a lower vacuum.
Appears to have had most of the oil drained from it. Three of the pins on connector are darkly discolored. The pins are fine but it does appear in the picture that the pins are not there. I assure you they are and should be fine. Just discolored. See picture.
