This unit appears to be a reader for multi-well plates. It has a sliding tray holder with an area 3.5" by 5", an LED display, and buttons labelled time, prog, rec, ext, baud, filt, clr, list, edit, start, man, 2nd, CE, aux, print, enter, left/right and up/down. On the back are a 36-contact IB/P connector labelled "printer" and a 25-pin D connector labelled "RS-232". It takes a standard 115V power cord (not included). On top is a cartridge slot, and an "advanced software" cartridge is included.
When the unit was plugged in and turned on the power light lit up but the display remained dark and a tone started sounding. No manipulation of the controls seemed to affect anything, so it appears that there's something wrong with this unit. It is being provided as a source of spare parts.
