This vintage showcase features plywood and hardwood construction;
not MDF (particle board) like you'll see in most things that are made these days.
Finding a large showcase unit like this is a rare treat... Guitars, Guns, Antiques, virtually any premium item that you want to display will look great in this showcase!
We had a guitar shop, and this case was configured to display 8 Guitars; for us, it was perfect to display "high end" instruments from Taylor, PRS, Gibson, and Fender.
With your own custom configuration of hangers, this case would easily hold many more instruments. Or, install Gun racks or another display system of your choosing.
tempered Glass: the cases feature nice heavy glass with metal-reinforced bottom edges that sit into channels with roller bearings. The glass feels substantial, but rolls back-and-forth with ease.
color: the main body of the cases are a rich Dark Walnut stain, with Satin Black moldings across the top. The right side panel of the case was always hidden in the corner in our store, and it is painted a Rust Red color.
The glass display area is painted with a Green/Black/White "faux marble" design.
You could easily repaint the display area if you prefer to have it match your studio or store decor.
Lighting... this showcase is equipped with lighting to make your merchandise show at it's best. For show, lighting gives your products more impact... for selling, a lighted showcase will increase your sales!
Security: the sliding glass doors are equipped with "slide bar" locks.
You have the option to remove those locks if you prefer unrestricted access.
Size: this showcase set is almost 12 Feet wide! (approx. 141 inches).
For transportation, the cases come apart in the middle;
so, you have 2 cases that are each almost 6 feet wide.
note: the moldings along the top and center of the case are designed for the cases to be used together as one large unit. However, you could customize the cases to be used as two individual units. The black moldings were a later addition to the showcases, and those moldings are probably MDF material (not hardwoods).
the cases are 18.5" Deep , and roughly 83" tall.
note: the top moldings are removable for transportation. standing upright, you will need a little over 82 inches of clearance to get the cases through your door... or, stand each case on it's side, and you'll need about 71 inches of clearance.
