Hi I have barred rock and rhode island white hens in with rhode island red roosters. the resulting chicks will be sex link- able to tell sex of chick by color.
The barred rock/rhode island red cross is your standard black sex link with the females having solid black heads and the males having yellow dots on thier heads.
The Red Star: rhode island white/rhode island red cross is your standard red sex link with the females being salmon red colored and the males being white.
This hybrid makes for very vigorous chicks, rugged brown egg laying hens and good cockerel fryers.
