The Mil-Tec freedom cutter system is an innovative approach to high performance, system based milling. It incorporated interchangeable, application based insert geometries in a single pocket design. Simply by changing the insert, the operator can adjust the geometry of the cutter to accommodate the application at hand. This concept of multiple and interchangeable geometric configurations allows the Freedom Cutter System to offer both performance and diversity of tool geometry that is un-paralleled in the industry, making the vast majority of indexable-inserted milling cutters available in today's market obsolete.
Chip Breaker SS: SS means Super Shear. It is a superb all purpose blade and the highest shear angle in the Freedom Cutter blade family. It is the most commonly used blade ("SS45L" Octagon), excellent on all low horse power machines, and for manufacturing thin parts. Use it for chip loads up to .006 per blade on metals 28RC and below, and on Aluminum up to .018 chip load.
