Detex 03P exterior trim for V40 devices w/cylinder
Add exterior trim to your Detex V40 alarmed exit device...NOW, you can get IN with a key!
And it covers the outside door lock hole if you are retro-fitting an existing door and removed an old cylindrical lock. (a 161LF is included for your convenience. It fills the 1-1/8" x 2-1/4" square hole in the edge of your door and comes with the two required mounting screws) (if you don't need it, save it in your tool box...you never know when you might have a use for it.)
The Detex 03P is the most commonly used trim for simple access from the outside because of it's low cost and the fact that it also covers the pre-bored lock hole in a commonly used steel door. Your door may or may not have this hole. The finish of this item is BHMA 628...to us standard people that means it is aluminum finish.
There is an enclosed template but the trim lines up with the two holes that mount the device mounting plate. Two larger holes must be drilled through the door to accept the through bolts supplied with the trim. You can see these in the picture. If you have a door that doesn't have a lock hole through the door you will need to drill the proper holes for the cylinder to recess into your door. If you have a 2-1/8" lock hole in the door the cylinder can be aligned with the device during installation and the hole will be covered both inside and outside securely. The instructions show you how to do this.
The key cylinder used is an ECL-445K and is included and INSTALLED FOR YOU with the purchase of this trim. (with 2 Keys) (Installing the cylinder is a $30.00 value you get for no extra charge.) If you use this trim with an alarmed exit device the installed cylinder will be keyed to match your control cylinder for the alarm unless you tell us differently.
A flat fee of $5.00 for one when ordered with an exit device. It will be packed in the exit device box.
