These are for fire protection.Just place the putty around an opening where a pipe or conduit goes though a wall or hole for protection.These putty keep the fire and smoke from spreading into the Wall.When the putty are exposed to high heat it will swell to fill holes and voids not allowing flames or smoke to spread.
