LARGE STAINLESS STEEL RANGE TOP SMOKER: This item was purchased at an Estate Sale. This item allows you to smoke meat, fish, poultry or anything else you might care to smoke using a burner of your stove. The way it works is you put soaked wood chips (oak, pecan, apple, etc) in the removable metal tray, the place the elevated rack over the chips and the what you want to smoke on the elevated rack. Slide the lid to close the smoker and place the smoker on a burner of your stove. The burner will cause the soaked wood chips to smoke and the slide on lid holds the smoke inside the smoker and flavors your meat or whatever you have inside the smoker. The longer you let it smoke the deeper the smoke flavor. I believe the elevated rack is a replacement rack, but it does the job just fine. The "Chef Catalog" sells this size smoker for over $75.00. The approximate size is 22 3/4 inches long with the folding handle extended (15 inches with the handles folded along side the smoker), 11 inches wide, and 3 1/2 deep. It weighs 6 pounds 1 ounce without any packing material. This item has been used and the bottom piece does show charring. It's a very usable and sturdy unit.
