They have been treated with a black Oxide coating and last longer due to resistance to loading and rust.
Half Round style files are intended for rounding out holes, corners & crevices.
They are double cut on both sides.
Simonds Files feature a build-in "twist & roll" action on the half round side produced by the Simonds "spiral cut" design,
and have the exclusive "wavy-tooth" design on the flat side.
Bastard Cut is a coarse cut (fewest teeth per inch) for rapid stock removal.
