Heavy duty power groover log cabin woodworking 8.5X1"
Hi. This is a Willis-Wells Corp. Heavy duty groover. It blasts a groove 1" wide and depending on how you have the blade depth set, cuts 3/4 to 1 to 11/4" deep groove. The Stainless steel carraige has the guide thats spring loaded and drops down into the cut groove to guide the cut. Also, it has a feature which allows the motor and blade to slide forward and start the groove or to allow you to groove to the end of your floor, log, furniture, or whatever your making. Unit is New and used only by me to cut an 8 foot groove into a milled log just checking it out. It blasted a perfect 1" x 11/4" groove 8 feet long in about 20 seconds. The brushes are replaceable, and show no wear other than as I have described. The pics may show some crud on the guard around the blade, but this is from the foam which used to be glued in the bottom of the carriying case. It's really never seen the light of day. Absolutely one of the prettiest pieces of equipment Ive ever seen. Unit measures 26" long and is 13" across from the guard to the handle.It weighs 24.9 lbs. As seen it can be used in the vertical position as well as flat, as there are three handles. I bought this unit many years ago when I was planing to build a log cabin. With this groover I was going to be able to lay my pluming and electrical between the courses of logs, and have an install that would have my neighbors drooling. Now my neighbors are drooling because its been so many years and I still havent built a log home. New this unit was over $1500. Could be used in thousands of applications. Thank you.
