I've been experimenting with MANY of the wired type headsets, I've been using this setup in the car with my Icom 725 and thought others may be interested in this application. This setup hangs on your ear and features full range wide audio on TX and RX. I've wired this speaker/mic directly to the 8 pin connector - earpiece sounds great, mic has noise reduction and meets single ear law enforcement requirements.
Simply plug it in, switch on VOX and you're ready to go.
