PENTAX PX-10D SEMI-TOTAL STATION = SURVEYING THEODOLITE + EDM
Optically read Theodolite with 5 sec graduations + Long Range EDM.
Pentax's renouned - Very high quality optics.
Large 45 mm Telescope Objective produces superb, sharp, high contrast target images.
Compensation for vertical axis tilt.
Optical micrometer is calibrated with major graduations at 10 sec intervals
and minor graduations at 5 sec intervals.
Angles are easily estimated to a within few arc-secs.
Battery pack recently re-celled with high quality Ni-Cads.
Internal Li memory battery recently replaced (good for at least another 10 years).
New "Intelligent" type battery charger (better charge control than with the original thermal cutoff type).
Telescope magnification: 30 x.
Bright internal illumination for the optical scales (low current LED) with auto shut off and very low current drain = tiny drain on batteries (EDM can be left OFF until needed).
Dual horizontal motions for easy zeroing or setting of the H circle.
This dual motion is also ideal for use of the "repetition" method (i.e. using the 2 motions for mechanical addition of successive measurements) for greater horizontal accuracy (with accurate target sighting, 5 repetitions will easily yield better than 1 sec resolution).
EDM is fully working and appears to be accurate (tested at 100 ft).
EDM automatically corrects for atmospheric pressure and air temperature with internal pressure and temp sensors.
alternatively - Temp and atm. pressure can be input from the keypad.
Averaging mode (5 measurements).
Long Range mode for distances greater than 2 Km.
Can calculate Horizontal distance from measured slope dist and keyboard input of vertical angle.
Optical scales are clean.Paint on battery case is slightly worn at corners

Not the latest technology but still a GREAT station for general surveying and layout.
Excellent in low light and better than most in poor visiblity conditions.
I have used this station over the last few years on a number of surveys and it "closes the loop" with the expected accuracy - and better - every time.
This equipment was originally purchased for my own use and I have tried to give as much helpful information as known in the above description.

This Instrument will be carefully packed in a large box, wrapped with bubble wrap and cushioned with the appropriate padding.
