Sodum Silicate solution can be used as a binder in forming core molds. Simply mix your sodium silicate solution with very fine dry sand. form it into your mold and cover it with a plastic bag. Gas it with Carbon Dioxide Gas (CO2). It will harden in about 10 to 15 minutes. Remove hardened Core and heat in the oven at about 200 degrees to slowly drive off the water in the mix. Turn the oven up to about 450 degrees to finish the curing process.
