This machine was custom built by myself and with less than 20 hours on it, it is virtually brand new.
With over 15 years in the plastics industry, I started my own business and was in the need for a vacuum former, so I decided to build one myself and make it completely automated. All you do is load and unload the sheet and the machine takes care of the rest. You can set the temperature at which you want the sheet to come out of the oven and you can also set the cool down time. Once the sheet is at the desired temperature it will automatically come out of the oven and start the cool down process. And if for any reason you need the sheet out of the oven sooner, there is a manual override button. All the heating elements are high quality ceramic which have quick startup time and provides even heating. The top oven is zoned into 3 zones and is controlled by high quality digital controllers so you can easily set the temperature you want the oven for each zone. The vacuum system consists of a dual tank setup (20 gallons total) with a high quality Busch vacuum pump capable of vacuum down to 29 mercury at a high CFM rate. All pneumatic cylinders are high quality SMC cylinders with sensors and are controlled by high quality MAC valves.
Max Sheet Size = 24"x36"Form Area = 22"x34"
Lift Capacity = 250 lb max (at 160 psi).
Lift Capacity = 188 lb @ 120 psi.
The oven runs on 240v single phase and the machine and vacuum pump are 120v single phase. If you plan on doing thick gauge plastic (.090"+) at production levels (more than just prototyping or small production runs), we would recommend adding a bottom oven. The machine is already designed for a bottom oven as the controllers (3) are already purchased and installed. So for an additional $2,000 I can add a bottom ceramic oven (with 3 zones) if you need one. The machine is also already designed for an upper assists, but is not included. If you need an upper assist I can add it for an additional $750.
