This item is a vintage Starrett tool set. It is an Inside Micrometer No. 124. Included are 5 Rods, 1 collet and 2 wrenches. (2 rods are missing)
It has been stored in its case, inside a Gerstner tool chest for decades.
It is at least 40 years old and in excellent working condition.This tool was purchased in 1971 from a product line inspector for Washington Air Brake Co. in Pittsburgh PA.The man was retiring and my father, who replaced him, bought his tool chest and all its equipment.
It shows little, if any, signs of usage & wear.The solid wooden case is also in very fine condition. It has a few scuff marks from being stored with other tools but no damage to its structure.The simple closure is well fitted and closes securely.
