Please know that this is a wonderful machine and functions flawlessly every day. It is no worn out old clunker that has been used for high production until it rattles, but know that it produces marvelous finishes and keeps close tolerances. It is capable of very heavy milling and is reliable and productive. The pallet changer repeats wonderfully and the spindle is as quiet as a mouse. The spindle was new two years ago, and is never run at speeds higher than 3K, although the machine is a 10K machine. I just had the Okuma mechanic look at it not long ago and he gave it a clean bill of health.
This MC 4VA comes with a Tsudakoma Pallet changer that is worth the cost of the machine alone, enabling the machine to be a production machine or simply a very versatile machine. The full enclosure on this machine opens on the sides for long pieces and the Magazine holds 20 tools. It is easily programmed and is a good piece of equipment. The Cat 40 Spindle was just replaced. The OSP 5000 controller is a color monitor and features cut simulation on the screen as well as simultaneous editing.
