In industry waterjet technology has been in use for many years for precision cutting. With the new HELIX HYDRO-JET ERBE now offers a new platform- technology for waterjet dissection in medicine.
HELIX HYDRO-JET uses the intelligent action of an extremely thin laminar liquid jet. rotating like a drill at the surface. With its precision method of operation and action it ensures a particularly sensitive, precise, and safe dissection with shorter procedure times.
The helical waterjet creates a cleavage plane where the liquid forces the tissue apart. Low pressures are sufficient for dissecting soft tissue.
Compared to a conventional system with a smooth or divergent jet, the special jet geometry achieves a precise effect, even at lower pressures and with a lower flow rate. This creates a highly specific, tissue-conserving application with a high degree of tissue selectivity. The rotating waterjet also remains coherent under water, e. g., for applications in arthroscopy or in urology.
HELIX HYDRO-JET was developed in close collaboration with international hospitals -from diverse fields of medicine. The system is ideally suited for use in open surgery, ENT, in orthopedic surgery, and organ-preserving laparoscopy.
