The XTX1C microscope is perfect for use in the laboatory or at home and features both top and bottom illumination and 20X magnification, just perfect for botany, entomology, archaeology and educational purposes. On offer is a brand new binocular headed, routine grade, 3D stereo microscope with excellent glass optics on an all metal stand at a very low price. This microscope is manufactured by GX Microscopes and is highly popular especially among education establishments and home enthusiasts. It has a wealth of upgrade options (see their shop ). It has everything you would expect to find on a microscope costing very much more. It is simple to use, advanced and very robustly constructed with excellent optical performance and has a full 1 year manufacturer's warranty.
The XTX1C head of the microscope is a binocular type with diopter adjustment on one of the eyepiece tubes to ensure that differences between your eyes can be comfortably accommodated. The distance between the eyepieces is also adjustable without affecting the optical clarity. The microscope is supplied with a pair of 10X Widefield eyepieces, higher power eyepieces are available from the manufacturer if required. There is even a pair of rubber eyeguards which protect spectacles and the eyepieces from damage whilst making observations.
The head of the microscope is mounted on a pillar stand which allows the entire head and focussing mechanism to be raised or lowered for observation of significantly different sized objects. The focus is controlled via a focus knob mounted on a steel rack and pinion for long life. The stand also supports the bright top illumination and encloses the bottom illumination which, unusually for this price of microscope, includes a very high grade frosted glass insert which is really good for viewing more transparent subjects as the light scattering proprties of the glass significantly enhance contrast.
The stand and head of the microscope are all metal have a tough stain resistant paint finish. The optics within the head of the microscope are very good quality and give absolutely excellent, bright, crystal clear images to both the eyepieces. Each eyepiece is cogently linked to its own angled objective (there is a pair of objectives). As the objectives are angled a very impressive 3D view of the subject is experienced.
