79L15 -15V linear regulator SO8 (soic 8) 100MA 32V i/p
This linear regulator is from the classic 79L series of low power IC regulators. These chips are made by National Semiconductor, and are LM78L15's. They can be used with up to -32V input (absolute maximum is -35V), and can deliver up to 100mA. But are power limited, so that they will not deliver 100mA, and drop a higher input voltage simultaneously (see datasheet). They are internally thermal overload protected, and also internally short circuit protected, so you should not be able to kill them!
The chip comes in an SOIC 8 package.
This is a Bi-Polar device, therefore it is NOT static-sensitive.
