The FC-7R and FC-7 are the most versatile tools available for optical fiber cleaving. The new FC-7R fiber cleaver is the industry s first and only handheld, 1-step, fiber cleaver with automatic blade adjustment for use in fusion splicing, field termination, and other precision applications. The new unit addresses the market need for a more precise fiber cleaver that eliminates the time consuming and error prone process of height and blade rotation adjustments, thereby increasing ease of use, precision, and the cleaver s maximum product life.
By extending the maximum life of the cleaver blade, FC-7R significantly reduces the need for maintenance and service.
This one-hand, one-step automated cleaver ultimately allows the user to streamline the cleaving process, undisrupted, to cleave single or multiple fibers with maximum precision and time efficiency.
The FC-7, without automatic blade rotation, can also perform cleaves on single fibers (0.25 to 0.90) and up to 4 count ribbons. Both the FC-7 and FC-7R feature a simple cleaving operation that can be performed in the palm of the hand (allowing the user to take the cleaver to fiber in limited slack applications) and incorporate a built-in fiber scrap collector that grabs, handles, and safely stores scrap fibers resulting from the cleaving process.
