Retention Knob non-coolant through for Haas Machine
The manufacture really pays attention to the details on the retention knob, as shown here on the flange, the straight neck, and the pilot. Each knob goes through a magnetic particle test after heat treat to prevent crack line and after this testing procedure, each knob will be precision ground on all critical contact surface, including the pilot underneath the flange area. The pilot will ensure the retention knob body makes a better contact with the tool holder besides the threads which will reduce the vibration and minimize TIR on the overall system (tools holder + retention knob).
