Three-phase motor on single phase: U3

This devices allows you to run a 400-480V three-phase VFD on 240V single phase power.
415V, require a 415V 3-phase supply (50Hz).
480V, require a 480V 3-phase supply (60Hz).
A drive's input rectifier stage charges the drive's internal bulk capacitors. All the power needed to produce AC is taken off the capacitor's DC.
The DriveBooster DBU-3 here runs on single phase.
It produces the correct DC power to run a 3hp drive.
Interconnect DBU-3 and drive by a two-wire DC bus (electrician). Connect to the drive's DC bus terminal + and -.
Some drives don't have DC bus terminal screws. The installation instructions explain how to connect to those drives.
A DriveBooster does not produce any RFI (Radio Frequency Interference), but drives do this more or less. This can annoy nearby listeners to radio equipment.
Some drives are equipped with an input filter in series with the input rectifier.
When using a DriveBooster, the drive's rectifier is bypassed and, if present, the drive's filter as well.
If EMC conditions are to be met: use an inverter-rated single phase filter (Tyco, Corcom, Schaffner, Roxbourgh, Lenze and others).
As with EuroTech DBU (single phase) and DBD (split-phase supply) units. Power is reduced:
Supply voltage: 240V single phase.
Typ. supply current: 15-25A depending on accel. settings
Dimensions: 150 x 200 x 190 mm
Ambient temperature: -20 to +50 degrees C
10 sec soft start, no inrush current.
Drive characteristics as if connected to three-phase supply.
Clean and safe low-ripple DC power.
Automatically disconnects when supply becomes unstable.
Use with all drives 400-480V 50Hz or 60Hz.
Two years return to base warranty.
