Winona Van Norman CG280 Crankshaft Grinder. We are halting our machine shop operations and will be selling all of our automotive machine shop equipment. I purchased this grinder new in 1991 and it has been in operation since and is still under power if anyone would like to see it operate.
Maximum Crankshaft Size it will handle is 82" Long X 22" in Diameter.
Distance between centers 81 inches.
Grinding wheel diameter 30 inches.
Overall length 21 Ft. 6 inches

It's accuracy is not surpassed by any other grinder you can plunge and sweep grind or double plunge journals with no appearance of a line from a double plunge. Comes equipped with a Arnold continuos sizing gauge with 2 sets of calipers that allow's you to continually monitor your grinding and journal size to finish diameter. Accuracy is to within .0001 and is easily accomplished with the incremental feed handle that allows you to grind from .0001 to .0004 with the pull of the handle in .0001 increments.
It comes with 2) mounted and balanced grinding wheels on centers one is 3/4" width and the other is 1 1/4" width both are 30 inch and still have a lot of diameter left there is also one other center without a wheel. Also included is a Stuhr wheel balancing stand for mounting or if necessary recheck wheel balance but that is not often. You get a narrow and wide steady rest most often the narrow is used. There is included a Winona Van Norman 60" crankshaft checking and straightening press.
This a great machine that will handle your smallest to largest of crankshafts and do it quickly and accurately if you check the pictures of the flat and vee ways the have always been lubricated and show very little to almost no wear. This machine requires 230 Volt 3 Phase power and in addition a 115V power for the control's and a compressed air connection for the air lock index pins and the adjustable air float heads. Simple push button controls for all startup's and a finger dial to adjust crankshaft RPM speeds with digital readout.
