Let's see what we have here...
Here are 6 hatching eggs from our gorgeous white Silkie Bantam chickens. Photos show some of the chickens from our Silkie flock. Our Silkies have a lot of the desirable traits you would want in the breed:
* mulberry face, comb, and wattles
* gorgeous, petite, light blue turquoise ear lobes
* legs feathered heavily to the toe
* gorgeous, fluffy, silky feathers - puff balls!
* very calm, affectionate disposition - especially our rooster!
Our Silkie chickens are both bearded and non-bearded. The eggs you will receive will produce both types. Feather coloration will be white.
All our chickens are raised in clean and well ventilated environments. They eat grains grown locally here on the Palouse in Washington: wheat, peas, and lentils. They also eat corn, crushed oyster shells (for the egg shells), and vegetable peelings. They all get a chance to free range around the farm - each one of the flocks takes their own turn. We raise Silkie Bantams, Polish Standards, Frizzle Cochin Bantams, Modern Game Bantams, Cornish Standards and Bantams, White Plymouth Rocks, Peafowl, White Homing Pigeons, and Birmingham Rolling Pigeons.
Our Silkie chickens are not only beautiful, they are very affectionate! Whenever I go out to their pen, "Mickey", one of our roosters, comes running over. He loves for me to pick him up an cuddle him. He always falls asleep in my arms when I hold him. Sometimes I call out to him from across the field and he will answer me back every time with a loud cock-a-doodle-doooooooo!
Our chickens are enrolled in the Backyard Flock Avian Influenza Testing Program through the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Every three months our birds are tested for avian influenza and have received a clean bill of health every time. Our chickens are also NPIP certified. Our NPIP number is 124 and our classifications are Salmonella pullorum-typhoid Clean and Avian Influenza Clean.
Photos show some of our beautiful white Silkie Bantam chickens. The chicken "bungalows" house our Silkies, Frizzle Cochin Bantams, and Polish chickens!
Note: The beautiful hens in the photos have not been blow-dried with a hair dryer. They are naturally fluffy!
Thanks for visiting CLUCKenBOCKen!
