12+ Golden Buff Orpingtons hatching eggs. They are laying really nice large light brown eggs. They have one day out each week to free range and explore all they want. They are healthy and happy and spoiled rotten too. They follow me around like the pied piper waiting for treats. They have a beautiful golden color and are mild mannered birds. They are my pets. They will jump for treats and one we call Golden Girl will sit in my handicapped grandson's lap to eat her treats. They will go broody and if they do, they make excellent mothers and can hatch a very large bunch of eggs.
My birds came from Murray McMurray Hatchery. All are beautiful tame chickens of fine quality.
I feed all my chickens on Game Bird Starter until they are full grown in size, then I gradually switch them to 20% Lay Pellets with Oyster Shell and Game Bird Conditioner with Vitamins and Electrolytes. This makes for very healthy hatching eggs. Each pen has an automatic waterer and the bowls are cleaned daily. I plant patches of Wild Bird Seed near the pens, so on their day out, they can forage for Fresh Greens as well as other good natural stuff they find. My birds are my passion and I love every one of them like they were my little children. They are all healthy, happy and very well cared for.
When your eggs arrive, please allow them to set at room temperature for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight. This will give the air bubbles, that form during the bumpy trip to your house, time to settle out. This will increase your hatch rate considerably.
