Fluorescent Minerals are a wonderful addition to the Scientific Products I sell. This Willemite has the most brilliant Greenish Fluorescence when illuminated with Short Wave Ultraviolet Light. Study of Geological Ores and Minerals that Fluoresce can be an insight into the way that electron transitions occur in materials with optical properties. Besides Radioactive materials discussed below, these Fluorescent Minerals have their uses in Scientific Study and in producing beautiful Artwork.

I use these 3 different Ultraviolet Lights. The ones on the outside are Mineralights, while the one in the center is a UVP UVG-11 254nm Shortwave UV lamp.
The colors seen with the different lights are strikingly different. The SW UV Mineralight has output in a broader spectrum than does the UVG-11 at 254nm.
University education in physics, chemistry and other disciplines requires the student to have a familiarity of the types of materials and the tools used in the analysis and processing of the aforementioned materials and many more topics.
