The owner before me lost the key to the case so he pretty messed up the lock mechanism, but the case opens and closes properly with slide buttons on the sides of the front recess.
I listed it in new condition because it has never really been used. It has a glass and glass holder used to print people on the spot and there is some ink on the glass where it was tried out but everything else has not been touched. None of the bottles have even been opened except one and I think that was out of curiosity because none of the powder has been used. It is completely full to overflowing.
I will try to list the items that come in the case. It is very professionally packaged with a foam insert and slots for everything.Here are the items that come in the kit.
1.) SB201L Hi-Fi Volcano Latent Print Powder-silver/black in a 2 0z. bottle unopened
1.) 101L Hi-Fi Volcano Latent Print Powder silk black in an unopened 2 oz. bottle
1.) SG202L Hi-Fi Volcano Latent Print Powder silver/gray in an unopened 2 oz. bottle
1.0 SBM9 Magnetic Latent Print Powder silver/black in a 1 oz. bottle. The seal has been broken but the container is completely full. I think someone just wanted to see what it looked like.
1.) SBM10 Magnetic Latent Print Powder silver/gray in an unopened sealed 1 oz. bottle.
1.) Box of Fingerprinting Lifting Tape. It is rolled up inside a glass bottle marked "no.145L2 Frosted 2"x360"
1.) 103L Hi-Volcano Latent Print Powder Indestructible white in a sealed unopened 2 oz. jar
1.) Magnifying glass with handle about 6 to 8 inches in perfect condition
1.) Smaller case inside with several boxes of different sized "Fingerprint Hinge Lifter and a tube of "Fingerprint slab Ink. I think a tiny amount was used to test the fingerprint roller and fingerprint card. It is still full.
1.) The other small case inside has an unopened package of "Latent Print Backing Sheets". They are sized 3"x5" and looks like a pack of about 100 sheets but I'm not exactly sure but the catalog no. is LB0031.It also has another roll of evidence fingerprint tape in a sealed plastic bag. Also a micro fingerprint pad for single fingerprint recording.and a brand new search and comparison & elimination fingerprint record book.Also a pair of scissors and a pointed metal tool about the size of an ink pen.along with some more special looking print record paper. All of this is new and unopened.
1.) There is also another magnifying glass in a small case that looks like it is used to closely examine fingerprints. It is in extremely new condition as well.
2.) no.122L Fiberglass Filament Brush in tubes and never used at all. They are in new perfect condition and have been sealed in their plastic tubes.
2.) no.119L Search Spread Powder Brush. Both in the same type plastic tubes, sealed and never used.
1.) no.125L Magnetic Powder Applicator which is also sealed in a plastic tube and bran new, never used.
Everything fits nicely in the foam slots of the case and there are also some assorted fingerprint cards to keep prints on file I assume. It is very neat and professional looking but there is no name brand on the case. The best I can do is give you the address on the bottles and tubes in the case. They say manufactured by SIRCHIE in Youngsville,nc
This case is actually made like a briefcase and has slot in the inside lid for paperwork, etc. If the key hadn't been lost and caused some cosmetic damage this item would be immaculate. This is NOT a kids toy or a beginner kit. This is the real thing for professional use. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I myself was actually impressed when I opened the case and saw the extent of materials for professional fingerprinting.
If you need some better pictures of the damage done to the lock on the front of the case then send me your e-mail address and I will try to send you some better pictures. My digital camera is old and hard to get good pictures sometimes. So please keep in mind that there is some cosmetic damage where the lock was taken out, my camera just doesn't show it very well. It's actually only om the front strip and doesn't effect the case or the opening or shutting in any way.
