Very nice olathe pto wood chipper model 12

Very Nice Olathe PTO Wood Chipper Model 12
I am responding (in green) here to a couple questions that I have received:
Reportedly, Olathe Manufacturing, Inc. was purchased by Toro and discontinued the chipper product line. In effect, they don't make heavy duty PTO chippers like this one any more. Based on a little internet searching, replacement parts are available.
I used this chipper with a 68 hp diesel Ford 5000 which was more than enough power to run the chipper.
At this moment, the chipper is near Lancaster, Ohio, but I'll be sending it to Marysville, Ohio for easy of future loading.
After a telephone request, I grabbed a bag of chips last night and have added a photo of them here.
The wood chips' size is a function of the rate of feed which is dependent on the wood type (soft/hard), green or dry, and branches size.
My goal was for general volume reduction, so I feed the braches through as quickliy as possible.
In example, dry wood is harder and was feed through slower, so the resulting chips were smaller. Alternately, green wood is softer and was feed through faster, so the chips were larger.
I purchased this chipper used in March, 2010 for a fence row clearing project at my home. I have completed this project and no longer have use for this chipper. The chipper was purchased as surplus equipment from the Xerox Corporation in Rochester, New York. My assessment was that the chipper had been well maintained. The chipper is very heavy and its design is simple with mostly off the shelf parts for knives, belts, and bearings. Other than greasing prior to use, I have not had to replace any parts during my short project or make any adjustments.
This is a drum style chipper which is manually feed and is driven off of a tractor s PTO. Once engaged, branches are pulled into the chipper. I was able to easily feed four-inch diameter cherry braches into the chipper. The intake is control through a lever that raises and lowers the in-feed floor.
Please notice the photo of the chipper s PTO shaft. The portion of the shaft that connects to the tractor is not included with the chipper. The length of the PTO shaft may vary depending on your tractor s three-point configuration. I was able to borrow that portion of the PTO from another implement.
The chipper will be located in Marysville, Ohio 43040 and is being sold for local pick-up only. We are able to load the chipper on a trailer or truck with the use of our Bobcat.

This can be a dangerous machine to operarte, and great care should be used while operating it. The seller does not assuming any liablity for its future use.
The Ford tractor shown within the photos is not included with the chipper.
Please checkout my other listing for a mobile 24 hp Honda PTO unit.
No, I didn't try to run the chipper on the 24 hp PTO unit. My originally plan was to put the chipper and motor on a trailer, but I reconsidered after realizing the chipper's size and weight. And using my father-in-law's tractor just made more sense.
