The stretcher weight separates into 2 pieces, for easy installation. It is opened and closed using set screws that can only be screwed/unscrewed with an allen hex wrench/key (included with the stretcher weight). If lost the standard size allen hex wrench/keys are inexpensively and easily replaced from any hardware store. This item uses a inch allen hex wrench/key.
