12+ blue jersey giant hatching eggs very large chickens
These babies are beautiful big birds. They are very good egg layers as well as meat birds. They have a great disposition about them and are easy to handle.
Kyle is sporting an 8 month old rooster in this picture. He is at about 6 pounds now and will get up to about 7 or 8 pounds by 10 months.
The eggs take about 2 days longer to hatch than other egg layers. I guess because of the unusually large size that these birds get to.
The roosters have a blueish black color to them. The hens are a lighter blueish black color. The Jersey Giants do very well here on our south jersey farm.
