Lepel t-100-3-kc-j-sw 100KW induction heating system

Lepel T-100-3-KC-J-SW 100KW Induction Heating System
For sale- a Lepel 100KW Induction Heating System, Model T-100-3-KC-J-SW. This system is comprised of three large components, the RF Oscillator section which has some minimal controls on it, a similar steel box housing the High Voltage Power Supply, and finally a Primary Saturable Reactor, Model 100-PRI.R. Poking around taking the pictures I found a tag on one of the Tech-Tran transformers in the reactor dating the production of the transformer itself to 1982. Presumably the Induction Heater was produced after that. All three have tags on them referencing the same purchase order number, so they do belong together as a system. Some of the pictures show the metal side panels removed, but they are all included.
I believe the system was being used to heat the Tekna Induction Plasma Spraying System that I have listed separately. They were purchased surplus from the same university Materials Science department, so not something that was slaving away 24/7 in a production facility. All three pieces appear to be in good, used condition, particularly given the vintage, but given the size and power requirements they are untested and sold without warranty. If repairs are required it will be at your expense. Please note- all three pieces have been moved to a freight terminal at this point, so they are as accessible as they will ever be.
The system was originally sold to the university by Vacuum Tube Industries, which has since updated its name to East Coast Induction. The guy there told me that the output frequency would be in the 150-200KHz range, for what that is worth. The advantage of the system is that it could be matched to a variety of loads. The downside is the floor space it requires and of course it isn t as energy efficient as a new one would be. I sent him some pictures with the sides off and he didn t comment on anything being obviously missing or broken, and I don t detect any unpleasant burnt electrical smells either. Please check out my other listings for more interesting lab equipment, including the Tekna Plasma System, and I have a Lepel LSS-2.5 incoming. Check back often!
Two of the pieces are on casters and seem to roll OK, so they would need to be snugged up against the side of the truck with ratchet straps. Building a pallet for something like this doesn t seem like a good use of my time and I have no way to get it onto the pallet after it is built. The third piece has steel skids on the bottom and we should be able to handle it with a pallet jack. The two pieces on casters are about five feet long and about three and half feet wide, almost six feet tall, and in the case of the RF unit, almost seven feet tall with the fan housing on top. The third piece is maybe six or seven feet long but only about 30 inches deep, maybe three and half feet tall. All of that is approximate, if you need actual dimensions let me know and I will measure them for you. Additional pictures are available on request.
